If you're researching whole home filtration, you've probably worked out that every company handles the buying process differently, and that it's hard to find out how until you're already in the middle of it.
This page explains our process for the Aquastream Whole Home Filter System, from start to finish, so you'll know exactly what to expect.
Who we are not for
- You would rather buy the system and organise your own plumber. Our whole home offer is supply, installation and warranty together as one thing. Backing a system for five years means knowing how it went in, so we keep the two joined up.
- You would like someone to visit and quote you. We do not run in-home consultations. There is a full explanation of our thinking further down, and a couple of good operators in this category build their whole service around the home visit if that is what suits you.
Still here? Here is how it works...
Before you do anything at all
You do not have to fill out a form to talk to us.
Plenty of people spend weeks reading, watching videos and comparing brands before they speak to anyone, which is a sensible way to approach an investment of this value in your home. Our Learning Centre exists for exactly this stage, including reviews of systems we do not sell.
If you have a question, call 1800 446 500 and ask it. Our specialists are here to help you work it out, whichever way you end up going.
Stage 1: Complete the form
A few basic details about you and your property, and about a minute of your time.
You'll immediately get an email and a text asking for some photos of your place, with instructions included. We'll also call within 24 hours to answer any questions you have and to make sure the system you're considering will do what you're expecting it to do.
Already know exactly what you want? Tell us on that call and we'll check it stacks up for your supply. Nobody turns up at your door.
Stage 2: Send your photos
Reply to the email or text with photos of your home. Instructions are included, and there's a short video that walks you through it: The Photos We Need for Your Installation. It takes a few minutes on your phone.
They show us where your water comes in, what space is available and how your existing plumbing runs.
Once we've had a look at your photos, you'll get an email with:
- The best location for your system
- Anything to arrange beforehand, such as a power point for UV systems
- The system we recommend, with the total price including installation
- Cartridge costs and how often they need changing
- A deposit link, where you also choose your cover colour
Stage 3: Pay your refundable deposit
Choose your colour and pay the $300 deposit through the link in your email.
- Mains water: Aquastream TRIO.2
- Rainwater: Aquastream DUO.2GX with UV
If we've talked through a different system on the phone, that link will be the one in your email.
Refundable. No fine print. If you change your mind before installation, you get every cent back. And once your system is in, you're covered by the 90-Day Money Back Guarantee.
Stage 4: We book your plumber
We arrange installation through our accredited Partner Plumber network. You do not need to find a plumber, ring around for quotes or coordinate diaries.
Installation usually happens within one to two weeks of your deposit.
Stage 5: Pay the balance the day before installation
We'll send your invoice the day before your installation date, so everything is confirmed and settled before your plumber arrives. Apart from your deposit, nothing is payable until then.
Stage 6: Installation day
Your Partner Plumber fits the system in a single visit and shows you how it works, including how to change the cartridges yourself when the time comes.
Stage 7: After installation
Here is what you are covered by once the system is in.
90-Day Money Back Guarantee. We want you to have complete confidence in your water. If something isn't right in the first three months, tell us and we'll do our best to fix it. If we can't, we'll uninstall the system, reinstate your pipework and refund you in full.
Five year parts and labour warranty. Delivered by your local Aquastream Partner Plumber, so if something ever goes wrong you are not boxing up a housing and posting it to a warehouse.
Cartridges on a simple schedule. Your system uses industry standard cartridges, so you can buy them from us or from anyone else. No proprietary lock-in and no service contract. Changing them takes most people 10 to 20 minutes, and our phone support is free if you would like someone to talk you through it.
What it costs
We publish our pricing, because you should not have to sit through a presentation to find out whether something is within reach.
One price, fully installed, with everything already in it.

Why we don't do in-home consultations
The standard model in this category is a free in-home consultation. Someone comes out, tests your water on your bench, and produces a custom quote for a system designed for your household.
We think that process is built for the seller.
- The testing rarely changes anything. The kits used on kitchen benches measure a handful of basic parameters. Hardness, pH, total dissolved solids. It looks scientific and it makes for a good demonstration, but it almost never produces information that changes which system you need.
- We can already tell you what is in your water. Water quality data for Australian supplies is published. We can look up your hardness, whether your area has PFAS issues, your chlorine levels and whether your supply is treated with chloramines rather than chlorine. That is the information that actually drives the filtration decision, and we can get it before we speak to you.
- If your water genuinely is complex, a bench test won't cut it. Bore water, unusual rural supplies, a known contamination issue. In those cases you need a proper laboratory analysis, which typically costs $100 to $200. We will tell you when that is worth doing. Nobody's kitchen table kit is a substitute for it.
- Somebody pays for the visit. An hour-long consultation, travel included, is a real cost, and it gets recovered in the price of the system. We would rather run a leaner process and put the money into the equipment and the guarantee.
- And it puts you on the spot. A trained salesperson sitting in your kitchen at 7pm, with a discount that expires, is a sales technique. It works, which is why it is used. We would rather you made this decision with a browser open and nobody watching.
FAQs
Do you offer in-home consultations? No. See above on why we don't.
Do I need to get my water tested first? Usually no. Published data covers hardness, chlorine, chloramines and PFAS for most Australian supplies. Bore water and unusual rural supplies are the exception.
Is the $300 deposit refundable? Yes, in full, right up until installation. If your property turns out not to suit a standard installation, we refund it and tell you why.
How long does the whole thing take? Most customers go from enquiry to installed system in two to three weeks. The photos are the step that sets the pace.
Can I use my own plumber? Not for a whole home system. The five year parts and labour warranty depends on the installation being done by an accredited Partner Plumber.
What if I'm renting? Speak with your landlord or property manager and send them this page. A whole home system is a permanent improvement that adds value to the property, and it is fair to expect that it may come with an increase in rent.
Do I have to buy replacement cartridges from you? No. While our cartridges are high quality, our system uses industry standard sizing so alternative cartridges are available from multiple suppliers. The choice should always be yours.
What if I'm not fully confident in my water after install? We want you to have complete confidence in your water. If it isn't right, tell us and we'll do our best to make it right. If we can't, we'll uninstall the system, reinstate your pipework and give you a full refund. That is what the Water Confidence Guarantee is for, and it runs for 90 days.
Send us your photos
We need a few photos so we can confirm the best location for your whole home filter system.
Fill out the form to get an instant email and text to respond to with some photos.
Soon you'll be enjoying beautiful water with complete confidence.
